Is the transformation of the food system only the responsibility of consumers? Evidence shows that in fact, the food environment in which we make decisions about what to buy and eat shape our food choices, and ultimately our diets.

Therefore, food and health policies must be leveraged to shape better food environments.

This panel will revolve around the topic of food environments but also touch upon correlated issues such as public procurement and the food served in school canteens, since the later plays a crucial role in affecting children’s health and their future eating habits, together with supporting (or not) local producers and the territory.

Speakers:

  • Nikolai Pushkarev, European Alliance for Public Health and member of the H2020 Food Trails Project
  • Claudia Paltrinieri, president of Foodinsider.

Moderator:

  • Enrico Morello, Slow Medicine directive board, Haematologist at the Bone Marrow Transplant Centre of the Spedali Civili di Brescia
