Slow Food continues its campaign against genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and the model they represent, based on a monoculture agricultural system and the concentration of power in the hands of a few multinational corporations.
In this appointment, Slow Food explains and explores the reasons why it opposes GMOs and indeed the European deregulation of the so-called new GMOs, known in Italy as Assisted Evolution Techniques.
Speaker:
- Elisa D’Aloisio, farmer, researcher, activist. She has worked in northeast Argentina to create a network of peasants and rural workers in support of local farmers’ movements. In Italy, however, she built the Terra Contadina Movement, a movement that brings together peasants, small farmers and rural workers.
