This conference presents urban agriculture as a multi-dimensional phenomenon that is increasingly central to the current urban scenario.
The aim of the event is twofold. First, to represent the variety of practices and purposes that characterize urban agriculture through the testimony of practitioners and organizations implementing some of the most exciting projects at the Italian and European levels. In addition, Ortorama promotes a collective dialogue to build a joint reflection on the generative potential of urban gardens, highlighting the broad implications of the phenomenon because of the value that distinguishes each case.
The event consists of four thematic round-table sessions to reflect on the topic of regeneration and proposes the urban garden as a strategic device for this purpose. Inviting to Turin representatives of Italian and European associations and projects, Orme Ets, in collaboration with Torino Urban Lab, act as the promoter of an idea of urban agriculture as a plural phenomenon that, because of its heterogeneity, can be a protagonist in today’s cities and an essential component in the design of our urban, food and social future.
