Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS) are models of quality-guarantee that involve local communities in a direct relationship with producers, who collectively ensure the respect of shared production standards.
Since 2018 Slow Food has been working to develop these models in collaboration with different international organizations, in particular the Mountain Partnership of the FAO and IFOAM.
This meeting is open to all those who are interested in starting a PGS and in getting feedback on the PGS already in place. We’ll learn about these certification models thanks to the testimony of:
- the delegates of the Enhancing agri-food value chains to increase the resilience of mointain communities project, in collaboration with FAO-MP and the UNDP
- the members of the Slow Food Coffee Coalition who use PGS to certifiy good, clean and fair coffee
- representatives of the Krakow Earth Market who are working on a PGS pilot scheme with their producers.
Free entry while seats last. We advise you to arrive 10 minutes early to ensure a place.
