Those of us passionate about tackling dietary inequalities have a unique opportunity to work with city authorities to shape the future of our urban food systems.
As our cities rapidly develop the projects and activities that excite us may inadvertently lead to gentrification and ghettoization around food. How do we ensure that food related policies and practices are meaningful to everyone not just those who love avocado and hummus? Public Health Nutritionist, Shaleen Meelu, will share learning from the City of Birmingham and the cities in India and Africa that she works with.
Introduces:
- Andrea Patrucco, Città di Milano.
Speaker:
- Shaleen Meelu, Birmingham City Council.
