Slow Food Heroes: a project to celebrate the virtuous food-related initiatives started around Europe to response to the Covid-19 emergency and inspire new gestures of solidarity.
The pandemic has changed the way we live and has damaged all sorts of relationships: between people, between communities. And the crises we were facing before Covid-19 have only been exacerbated, particularly those relating to social equity and inequality. These are being made even more complex by the international geopolitical situation. Challenging as it might be, we can try to see ourselves as a plant-like organism, one that after a traumatic event needs to grow new foliage, to take a new breath and initiate a process of rebirth. If an old branch is planted well, it can grow new roots and become its own tree. This is regeneration, and these stories serve as beautiful examples of it.
The project is financed by European Cultural Foundation, with the contribution of CRC Foundation.
Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is in Parco Dora, Turin, from September 22-26, 2022, with over 600 exhibitors and a series of workshops, conferences and tastings that show how we can regenerate our planet through food. #TerraMadre2022 is a Slow Food event.
