Between the 1st and 3rd of September 2022, Terra Madre Nordic will take place in Stockholm, becoming the meeting ground for producers and consumers, focusing on regenerative and resilient food systems as the main topics for a series of activities.

The visitors will experience the artisan food market, tasting workshops, masterclasses, discussions, and panels.

More details on the program are available here but the following will be the overall structure:

Thursday 1 September

  • Community day. Competition assessment, activities for professionals, networking lunch, welcome dinner and after party

Friday 2 September

  • Nordic artisan food market, activities for visitors, award ceremony

Saturday 3 September

  • Nordic artisan food market, activities for visitors and food craftsmen

Located in the beautiful park Stora Skuggan with the restaurant Stora Skuggans Värdshus as the central hub for the activities, participants and visitors can look forward to exciting and full-packed days.

The program includes masterclasses on the fermentation of vegetables or how to include seaweed in foods, tasting workshops with Nordic spring honeys, or beers from the region. Talks and panels on regenerative and resilient food systems are divided into sessions highlighting all the crucial issues.

Concurrently, the first ever Nordic Artisan Food Awards, NAFA, will be held. Artisan food producers from all over the Nordic region are invited to compete. NAFA is organised by Eldrimner – the national resource centre for food crafts, organiser of the yearly Swedish Artisan Food Awards since 1996. The aim of the competition is to support and inspire food artisans in their product development and to increase awareness of and demand for artisan food products. More than 500 Nordic artisanal food products are expected to compete in a total of 28 classes within the categories of dairy products, bread, products of berries, fruits and vegetables, artisanal drinks, charcuterie, and fish. The award ceremony will be held on Friday, September 2nd.

This event is part of The Road to Terra Madre, a series of initiatives organized by the Slow Food network around the world to pave the way towards the international gathering which takes place in Turin, Italy, from September 22-26 and where participants will design the future of food together.
