Feeding the City is a stage dedicated to cities and their food policies, where we’ll share experiences and creative solutions to common problems.
A place where we’ll explore projects in cities from around Italy, and beyond, to discuss holistic visions for urban futures and how municipal food policy can encourage ecological transition. We’ll be bringing together a wide range of guests who work to fight waste, to promote sustainable diets, and to integrate cities with their surrounding countryside.
This area’s program has been developed together with Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the CIHEAM Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari.
Conferences and meetings are held in two separate spaces in Parco Dora, Turin.
Conference space
The conferences are dedicated to urban food policies and regeneration, and the ecological transition in urban areas. We’ll discover the transformation underway in Rome, Turin and Taranto, and explore the contribution of suburban agriculture to local food policies. We hear from activists and volunteers who tell us how food can become an effective tool for inclusion.
Meeting space
At the meeting space we have presentations and Food Talks, including an exploration of Slow Food Travel destinations and discussions around the transformation of food environments in cities. Discover how cities like Copenhagen are changing school menus to more sustainable options.
