Taste Workshops
Delicious sensory education comes in a thousand flavors at the Taste Workshops of Terra Madre.
We’ll have workshops set up in Parco Dora, as well as other locations around Turin like Eataly Lingotto, Nuvola Lavazza and Edit.
The Taste Workshops are a way to learn through tasting, to widen our knowledge while stimulating the senses and listening to the stories of the people behind the products. As usual, this year we’re putting the spotlight on foods, drinks and people, serving up a wonderful program of tastings and stories.
Taste Workshops at Parco Dora – Natural products and slow landscapes
Natural cheeses and charcuterie
Natural cheeses are made with raw milk and without selected starter cultures. They restore value to the milk and the animals that make it, by preserving all the aromas and microorganisms that contribute to the complexity of cheese. Natural charcuterie, meanwhile, comes from free-grazing, local breeds whose meat is processed without nitrites. These Taste Workshops will offer reflections on the meaning of animal welfare and propose alternatives to pork.
These products will be presented together with breads from the Slow Grains network.
The lands of Slow Food Travel
Behind every land there are stories, gastronomic traditions, flavors and artisanal techniques being preserved and passed on among our human community. Every gastronomic tradition is potentially a unique tourism experience: that’s the idea at the heart of Slow Food Travel, and we’ll be presenting tastings from some of the project’s itineraries in Turin: come and discover the flavors of the Karst Plateau, Carinthia, Etna, the Valais Canton and more!
Wine
Next to the Enoteca there’s a space for wine tasting. We’ll explore the bottles of the Slow Wine Coalition, the international network that brings together protagonists from the wine world, united in their passion for good, clean and fair wine. We’ll also be exploring the differences in wines and wineries over time: what differences are there in the wines of older wineries, when the next generation takes over the vinification process? Come and find out in our Taste Workshops!
Eataly Torino Lingotto, Nuvola Lavazza, Edit
There’ll be further opportunities to learn through tasting across the city, with Workshops at:
- Nuvola Lavazza, dedicated to coffee
- Edit, dedicated to beer
- Eataly Lingotto, where we’ll focus mainly on Italian gastronomy, but with a few international offerings as well
