UniCredit Main Partner of Terra Madre Salone del Gusto

21 Giugno 2022

As a pan-European banking group, UniCredit aims to establish strong local roots and maintain a close relationship with the communities in which it operates, supporting significant initiatives for the development of sustainable economies. To that end, UniCredit has chosen to renew its contribution as Main Partner of Terra Madre Salone del Gusto, a two-year collaboration that becomes even more meaningful this year, when key signals related to the post-Covid phase need to be given.

In this regard, the bank has chosen to take an active part in the initiatives of Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2022, organised by Slow Food. UniCredit views this as an opportunity to shine a spotlight on one of Made in Italy’s most significant sectors: the food and wine industry, a sector it knows well and can assist in facilitating processes designed to improve the entire value chain. This shows the Group’s concrete commitment to supporting the real economy with great attention to the creation of sustainable value.

Paola Garibotti, Regional Manager North West of UniCredit commented: by partnering with Slow Food, we concretely commit to being close to local communities and keeping our focus on small businesses, supply chains, and more broadly on the territory in order to accompany its sustainable growth. Our role wants to be that of connector and aggregator of the different realities and of the different players in the food and wine sector. The contribution to Terra Madre is in line with the bank’s main business objectives focusing on Made in Italy, one of its key strengths in agri-food. As part of this framework, UniCredit provides commercial and strategic support to the production chains. Additionally, the bank is focused on increasing attention to sustainable choices, a theme that also means providing commercial support with tailored loans to companies who set themselves specific objectives in terms of improving environmental and social sustainability.
